When investigative journalist Caroline Sullivan—a close friend of Jon Reznick—is shot dead on a Manhattan street, the NYPD says it was a robbery gone wrong. But Jon Reznick knows better. Caroline was about to publish the news story of her life, one that threatened to expose a deadly government conspiracy stretching from Latin America to the highest corridors of power.

Someone has silenced her and now Reznick is a suspect. And the real killer—a ghost-like assassin—is still out there, hunting anyone connected to Caroline’s investigation. With the FBI closing in and allies disappearing, Reznick calls in ex-SAS veteran Mac to help him tear through the conspiracy.
