Book research trip to Alicante
Just back from a very rewarding eight-day book research trip (for a future Jon Reznick thriller, HARD SILENCE) to Alicante in south east Spain. It’s a truly fascinating and beautiful city. Its Centro district packed with bars, tapas bars on narrow streets alongside the ancient Old Town will live long in the memory.
Among the highlights of my book research trip was a visit to Castillo de Santa Barbara (Alicante Castle) which dominates the city skyline, the beautiful basilicas, MACA Contemporary Art Museum of Alicante with fantastic paintings by Miro amongst others, the palm-lined Playa del Postiguet beach, classic tapas bars like Manero Molla and the Esplanade bordering the Marina.
But like most great cities, it also has its grittier side, which Reznick will no doubt be exploring in HARD SILENCE.
Alicante’s history goes back thousands of years. In Roman times, in the neighbourhood of what is now Albufereta, stands the ruins of what was Alicante’s predecessor city, known as Lucentum.
Here’s a few images I’d like to share from my visit.

Such a great idea to give us so many visuals
Thanks so much. Glad you enjoyed them. Best, JB
